It’s falling asleep next to my sweet Kaya after a busy day of work, school, dance, and homework.
It’s noticing a rainbow after a storm…and marveling at the goodness of God!
It’s remembering how much I love being held in Ryan’s arms.
It’s thinking of Evee’s mischievous grin and happy attitude.
It’s taking walks alone with my buddy Mick as we watch the sun set behind the mountains.
It’s listening to the rain patter the window and hearing the rolling thunder.
It’s enjoying a warm chocolate chip cookie fresh out of the oven.
It’s waking up early to see the sun rise and feeling the crisp cool morning air.
It’s feeling the wind swish past my face as I ride down a winding trail.
It’s watching the winning basket at the buzzer…that never happens…but when it does it’s pretty awesome!
It’s listening to Kaya laugh at a book she’s reading or a movie she’s watching.
It’s moments remembering holding my sweet Evee’s hand.
It’s cuddling a new baby and watching her dream.
It’s memories of kissing the top of Ryan’s cheek and forehead.
It’s spinning in a new dress just to remember Evee twirling in her new dress and her saying, “Check out my spin Mom!”
It’s the warm feeling I get when I hear the prophet testify of the Savior.
It’s laughing so hard my face and stomach hurt.
It’s an ice cold Dr. Pepper on a hot summer day.
It’s crawling into bed and feeling the cold sheets against my skin.
It’s the accomplishment of trying something hard and new…and succeeding!
It’s the feeling in my heart when I think of the love of my eternal family.
It’s the gratitude of receiving and giving service.
It’s the satisfaction of having a perfectly clean house…even if it’s just for five minutes.
It’s the weight lifting from my shoulders when I walk through the temple doors.
It’s looking up at the night sky and wondering about the universe and God’s creations.
It’s sitting at the park watching the children play, run, and giggle.
It’s feeling sorrow…but knowing through Christ…I can have hope.
It’s the simple things in life that bring me some of the greatest joy. When life seems hard…bleak…or dark…I take a moment to think about the simple things…
The small things that make me happy… and I often find that even though life is hard…it’s also quite beautiful.
